We believe that God has entrusted us with the precious gift of nurturing our relationship with God, with each other, with our local community in Auburn and with God’s children around the world. At Auburn First UMC, we live our mission in a myriad of ways because our passions, skills, and gifts are vibrantly diverse. We are confident those who visit Auburn First will find a group and/or ministry where they feel they belong. Auburn First lives our mission through three overlapping categories: Community, Compassion, and Commission.

 

Community is life & faith shared

“The believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the community, to their shared meals, and to their prayers.” (Acts 2:42) 

 

Compassion is love in action

“put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Be tolerant with each other. . . forgive each other. . . And over all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.” (Colossians 3:12-14)

 

Commission is living faith through justice

“Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father sent me, so I am sending you.’ ” (John 20:21)
