Online Worship

Sunday, August 31, 2025

Welcome to Auburn First UMC's online worship service for Sunday, August 31, 2025.  We are having several of our floors redone, and so we are worshiping online for this Sunday.  Below you will find worship music, reflection, and prayers.  Thank you for joining us today!

Song of Praise

At Auburn First UMC, we invite all people to bring their whole selves to worship. As we begin to worship, join us in singing Come As You Are.

Scripture Reading & Reflection

Reflecting on the Gospel lesson from Luke 17:1-11, Auburn First UMC Church Council Chair J.D. Drollinger delivers this week's message. In his message, J.D. discusses the topic of gratitude and how it impacts our relationships with God and others.

Prayer

Let us pray for:

Your loved ones (children, grandchildren, parents, aunts, uncles)

Your neighbors and those who live near you

Your community - City of Auburn, Kent, Covington, Puyallup

Your leaders - mayors, state representatives, congressmen & women, and the president

     the world:

         - those running from war, may they find peace and safety

         - those who are hungry, may they be fed

         - those recovering from natural disasters, may they recover and find hope

         - those who are sick, recovering from surgery, and struggling with their mental health, may they find                     healing of their bodies and spirits

         - those who are dying and/or on hospice, may they find rest and peace

Holy and Gracious God, you awaken our hearts to mercy and grace.  When the world stumbles and we are hurt, you invite us to forgive.  When we doubt and wonder if we even have faith, you remind us that we are enough. We come before you today with hearts filled with gratitude for the gifts we have received and those that are still coming into being. We give thanks for the grace that transforms us and for the community that bears your love into the world. Deepen our roots of gratitude so that every act, every world, every step we

take reflects your boundless compassion and love.  We pray this in and through the Christ, Amen.

Closing Song

Join us as we close our time together by singing our closing song, Old Church Choir.
